Meet Alyssa

I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, proud Michigander, sister, daughter, friend, and lifelong learner—both a teacher and student of life. But above all, I’m someone who is deeply passionate about movement, wellness, and helping others live a balanced, empowered life.

Movement has always been a central part of life. With over twenty years of experience in dance, I’ve learned that movement is not just about exercise—it’s about feeling connected to my body and supporting my mental and physical health. Whether it’s running, yoga, hiking, strength training, or dancing, movement keeps me grounded and aligned with my well-being.

But my journey into nutrition didn’t start with the goal of becoming a dietitian. It began with my love for dance and the need to fuel my body for long rehearsals, performances, and an always-busy lifestyle. As a dancer, I was constantly looking for ways to feel stronger and recover better, but I found myself overwhelmed by conflicting nutrition advice, misinformation from social media, and the pressure of diet culture. Sound familiar?

Determined to make sense of it all, I decided to pursue dual Bachelor’s degrees in Dance and Nutrition from West Virginia University, followed by a Master’s in Clinical Dietetics from Grand Valley State University. It wasn’t always an easy path, but those years of study—combined with my personal experiences—taught me how to use evidence-based nutrition to fuel my body and feel confident again. I realized that clear, personalized nutrition doesn’t have to be confusing or restrictive. It’s about embracing your own body, finding what works for you, and creating sustainable habits that fit your life.

Today, as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, my mission is simple: to make nutrition and movement approachable, enjoyable, and empowering. I believe that both can be intentional—rooted in what feels good for your body, and backed by science, not trends. Whether you’re struggling with food confusion, looking to support your movement practices, or simply improving your health, I’m here to help you navigate your journey with clarity and confidence.
